Meet Michelle Mathieson, D.M.D., M.S.D.
Dr. Mathieson loves orthodontics and has practiced orthodontics since 2012. She became interested in orthodontics during her own treatment when she was a teen.
This led to her observing her orthodontist after school and ultimately working in a dental office before being accepted to dental school.
She decided to specialize in orthodontics because she enjoys tackling the more challenging cases. She enjoys observing the transformation that occurs when the patients realize how beautiful their smile has become.
Education & Experience
Dr. Mathieson was born in Tulsa, OK but has lived in multiple states as her mom moved around the country for her medical training as a physician. Dr. Mathieson graduated from high school in Tampa, FL before moving to Georgia to attend college.
Dr. Mathieson graduated from Agnes Scott College where she majored in astrophysics and minored in music. She played varsity level collegiate tennis and was involved in student council and residence life.
She moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL to attend Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine. She was top of her class and achieved membership in the elite OKU national dental honor society.
Upon graduation, she moved to snowy Denver, Colorado to complete her 30-month orthodontics residency at the University of Colorado.
Dr. Mathieson and her husband were married in Alpharetta, GA and ultimately wanted to return to Georgia when she finished her dental and orthodontic training. Dr. Mathieson began practicing orthodontics once they moved back to the Atlanta area.
Today, Dr. Mathieson is excited to have her own space to practice orthodontics and take excellent care of her patients. Dr. Mathieson is dedicated to providing high-quality orthodontic care to patients of all ages.
She treats every patient like family and enjoys greeting patients by name! Dr. Mathieson looks forward to welcoming you and your family to our home-sweet-office of Harmony Orthodontics!
Dr. Mathieson is passionate about technology and lifelong-learning. She created an office to make the orthodontic experience as enjoyable as possible utilizing digital technology including scanners instead of alginate molds.
As a busy mom herself, she wants things to be efficient and convenient at her office. Dr. Mathieson lives in northern Roswell and visits Canton frequently because her parents live close to the office.
Dr. Mathieson serves the communities of Canton, Woodstock, Holly Springs and beyond!
Outside the Office
When Dr. Mathieson is not creating beautiful smiles in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family (husband and two sons), gardening, hiking, playing tennis and fostering animals with local rescue groups, crafting and sewing.
